Pre-Primary School Curriculum

ENGLISH

In Pre Primary, the focus is on LSRW in which :-
Listening Skills: Includes songs, stories and poems.
Speaking Skills: Enables the child to read aloud stories, converse and recite poems. We also encourage students to participate in Show and Tell Activity.
Reading Skills: At Pre- Primary stage the sounds are taught in a specific order (not alphabetically) using the holistic approach- visual, aural and physical. This enables children to begin building words. Children also practice blending phonemes for reading through various activities and segmenting phonemes for spelling. For enhancing reading skills, we follow 3 steps to good reading:
   1. Read aloud the words at least 3 times.
   2. Call out the word and let the children point the word.
   3. Point to a word (at random) and the child read it aloud.
Writing Skills: Pre – writing skills are the fundamental skills children need to develop before they are able to write so we begin with strokes which helps them to form letters . Also, they learn to write lower case a to z in order. We develop the skills to comprehend in the form of ‘Fill in the blank, Tick the correct answer, Opposites, Circle the odd word and answer the given questions.’
