FOUNDATION DAY & INVESTITURE CEREMONY

We celebrated the 41st Foundation Day of our school on July 4, 2025, with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of pride around the theme ‘Sustainability: Protecting Our Environment,’ which reflected the school's commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious and responsible citizens.

The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Director, the Principal, and the Secretary of St. Stephen's School Society, Ajmer, before the portrait of our esteemed founders, Shri Gilroy Martins and Dr. (Mrs.) Deepa Martins. A short yet meaningful cultural programme set the tone for the celebration, as the students showcased a rich array of performances, featuring a heartfelt insight into the lives of our founders, a melodious Hindi song paying tribute to them, and an impactful English skit emphasizing the urgent need to save the earth. A vibrant group dance celebrated nature’s beauty and resilience, while a powerful Nukkad Natak highlighted the importance of cleanliness and environmental health. The event was further enriched by the presence of some parents in the audience.

One of the day’s most significant moments was the solemn Investiture Ceremony, where the newly elected Student Officials of the Secondary Section were formally inducted into office. In a symbolic gesture of trust and responsibility, the Director and the Principal conferred badges of office, acknowledging these students as the torchbearers of the school’s vision. The Principal administered the oath of office to the Student Officials, as the young leaders pledged to uphold the school’s values and fulfill their duties with sincerity and dedication.

On this special occasion, the Principal, in his address, paid a heartfelt tribute to the Founders, highlighting their unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and spirit of service that have guided the school to its present heights of excellence. He reaffirmed that their educational philosophy still shapes the institution’s direction. The Director emphasized the importance of the school’s core values, urging students to develop strong roots by staying grounded in these principles, while also nurturing wings to pursue their dreams with confidence and purpose. The Secretary of the School Society, who is also the first student of the institution, spoke about the value of simplicity in a student’s life. She also stressed the shared responsibility of safeguarding the environment—resonating with the day’s theme of sustainability. The programme concluded with the school prayer.

The Initiation Ceremony for the Primary Section was a dignified and ceremonious event, during which the Headmistress administered the oath of office to the newly appointed Prefects and Junior Prefects of the four Houses. Following the oath, each House Prefect delivered a brief speech, expressing their commitment to carry out these tasks with loyalty and a strong sense of duty.

In line with the day’s theme, a series of class-level activities were conducted to promote sustainability.

The Foundation Day was not just a celebration of our school’s rich legacy but also a heartfelt call to action for a greener, more responsible future. It was a day of reflection, recognition, and reaffirmation of our shared responsibility towards the environment and the values that define us.
